What is an Orthopedic Pillow?
An orthopaedic pillow is designed to correct your body positioning while you sleep. The aim of an orthopedic pillow is to correct spinal alignment and cradle the head to reduce or eliminate aches or pains in the back, neck and shoulders.
The pillow’s main purpose is to encourage the correct sleeping position and ease strain on sensitive pressure points. But on top of this, therapeutic pillows can improve your breathing, blood circulation problems, help sleep apnea sufferers and even reduce snoring problems for some users!
What is the Best Pillow for Neck Support?
Waking up with neck pain is quite common, but this doesn’t have to be the case. Some aches are caused from injury or chronic issues, but most of the time they can be improved with better sleeping positions, a medical-grade mattress and a neck support pillow.
Stomach sleepers are most likely to endure pains, so sleeping on your side or your back is recommended. Whether you are a back or side sleeper, the best pillows for neck pain follow your back and necks natural curves.
Avoiding pillows that are too stiff or too high is also crucial, so a memory foam core pillow is the ideal medium - our Classicpedic orthopedic neck support pillow ticks all the boxes.
Do They Work? If you purchase a high quality orthopedic memory foam pillow, you should start to feel the tension from your neck and back ease over time - especially if your aches were caused by unspportive pillows and poor sleeping positions.
Should I Combine an Orthopedic Pillow and Mattress?
If you want to truly transform your night’s sleep and treat your neck and back with as much support as possible, we recommend combining our orthopedic mattresses and pillows.
When you combine a foam mattress and pillow, you will enjoy the highest levels of comfort and support. Your neck and spine will be properly aligned, and the heavier pressure points will have extra support, such as your head and hips.
If you are happy with your mattress, but want the benefits of memory foam without forking out for a new one - we have a solution. Our cheap memory foam toppers provide all the support of memory foam mattress, but you just pop it ontop of your current set up.
